"Damnum" showcases Allegaeon's signature blend of technical death metal with rich melodic undertones, characterized by intricate guitar work and dynamic rhythms. The production is polished, allowing the sharpness of the dual guitar harmonies to shine through while maintaining a heavy, resonant low end. Tracks like "Into Embers" and "Vermin" feature rapid tempos and aggressive drumming, contrasted by atmospheric interludes in "To Carry My Grief Through Torpor and Silence." The album's textures range from dense, chugging riffs to ethereal passages, particularly in "The Dopamine Void, Pt. I" and "Pt. II," which explore a more introspective sound. Overall, "Damnum" is marked by its emotional depth and sonic complexity, making it a distinctive entry in the modern metal landscape.
