"Apoptosis" showcases Allegaeon's signature blend of technical death metal and melodic elements, characterized by intricate guitar work and dynamic song structures. The production is polished, allowing the sharp, precise riffs and complex rhythms to shine through, while the layered vocals oscillate between guttural growls and soaring clean melodies. Tracks like "Exothermic Chemical Combustion" and "Stellar Tidal Disruption" feature rapid tempos and relentless energy, punctuated by atmospheric interludes that enhance the album's thematic depth. The use of varied time signatures and polyrhythms creates a rich sonic texture, while the juxtaposition of aggressive instrumentation with melodic passages gives "Apoptosis" a distinctive, immersive quality that invites repeated listens.
