Biography

Devastation was an American thrash metal band from Corpus Christi, Texas. The band was formed in 1986. That same year, the band released their first demo Destined to Death. As a result, the band signed to Zombo Records and released their debut album Violent Termination in 1987. In 1988 followed the second demo Contaminated, in the same year the band also held gigs, among others with Dark Angel. The second album Signs of Life was released in 1988 by Under One Flag. In 1989 followed further appearances with groups such as Lääz Rockit, Dead Brain Cells and Sepultura. They released their final album Idolatry in 1991. The album was recorded by Scott Burns at Morrisound Studio. After various appearances in the summer of '91 together with bands such as Malevolent Creation and Demolition Hammer, the band disbanded after Combat Records terminated their contract with the band. In 2008, the band reunited. A 7''-release was planned but ultimately canceled - they split up again for good in 2009.
