"Ekbom" by Benighted presents a visceral exploration of death metal, characterized by its relentless energy and intricate sonic textures. The production is polished yet raw, allowing the aggressive guitar riffs and thunderous drumming to dominate the soundscape while maintaining clarity. Tracks like "Le Vice des Entrailles" and "Flesh Against Flesh" showcase rapid tempos and complex rhythms, creating a chaotic yet cohesive listening experience. The use of layered growls and shrieks adds depth, while atmospheric elements in "Mother Earth, Mother Whore" introduce a haunting quality. The album's distinctive nature lies in its ability to balance brutality with moments of eerie introspection, making it a compelling addition to the genre.
