"Weltschmerz" presents a rich tapestry of progressive rock, characterized by lush instrumentation and intricate arrangements. The production is polished, allowing for a dynamic interplay between acoustic and electric elements. Tracks like "The Grace of God" and "Walking on Eggshells" feature sweeping melodies and layered harmonies, while "Man With a Stick" introduces a more rhythmic, driving tempo. The use of strings and piano adds a cinematic quality, particularly in "Rose of Damascus" and "Garden of Remembrance," where emotional depth is palpable. The album oscillates between reflective ballads and more energetic pieces, creating a varied sonic landscape. Overall, "Weltschmerz" stands out for its thoughtful composition and rich textural contrasts.
