So Cold Streams" by Frustration is a compelling exploration of post-punk and cold wave, characterized by its stark, icy textures and driving rhythms. The production is crisp, allowing the sharp guitar riffs and pulsating basslines to cut through the mix with clarity. Tracks like "Insane" and "Pepper Spray" feature a relentless energy, while the atmospheric "Brume" introduces a more subdued, haunting quality. The album's tempo varies, balancing between frenetic and contemplative, creating a dynamic listening experience. The use of layered synths and minimalist percussion enhances its new wave sensibility, while the gritty undertones reflect a hardcore influence. This distinctive blend of styles results in a sound that is both urgent and introspective.
