"New Kind of Normal" showcases a blend of indie rock and punk-infused melodies, characterized by raw, emotive vocals and a lo-fi production aesthetic. The instrumentation features jangly guitars, driving bass lines, and dynamic drumming, creating a vibrant yet gritty soundscape. Tracks like "Am I dead yet?" and "Too Old For This" balance urgency with introspective lyrics, while "Easy to Love" and "Follow" introduce softer, more reflective moments. The album maintains a consistent tempo that oscillates between upbeat anthems and contemplative ballads, allowing for a diverse emotional range. Distinctively, the album captures a sense of authenticity and vulnerability, with textures that feel both immediate and relatable, resonating with the listener's personal experiences.
