Description: Star Booty an EP mini-album by the American post-hardcore band Bitch Magnet. The record documents the band's early line-up, and was one of the first records produced by Steve Albini after he ended his group Big Black.

Star Booty was first released independently in 1988. It was paired with the band's debut full-length album and re-issued by Communion the following year. In 2011 Star Booty was remastered by Alan Douches and released in a box-set with the rest of the band's catalog.

Artist Background: Bitch Magnet was an American post-hardcore band who formed in 1986 at Oberlin College in Ohio and later moved to North Carolina. They released their first record in 1988. All of the band's full-length albums were released on Communion Records in the US; they were also signed to the European labels Shigaku/What Goes On and Glitterhouse. The band disbanded in 1990. Frontman Sooyoung Park later formed the band Seam with Mac McCaughan (of Superchunk) and Lexi Mitchell. Post-Seam, Park also played... Part of the Oberlin, Ohio, USA music scene. Emerged in the 1980s era. Associated with Post-Hardcore movement.
