"Portrait aus Wut und Trauer" showcases Mantus's signature blend of gothic metal, characterized by rich, atmospheric soundscapes and a hauntingly melodic approach. The production is polished yet retains an organic feel, allowing the layered guitar riffs and symphonic elements to intertwine seamlessly. Tracks like "Solstitium" and "Es regnet Blut" feature driving tempos and dynamic shifts, creating an engaging ebb and flow of energy. The use of keyboards adds depth, enhancing the emotional weight of songs such as "Tränenpalast" and "Winterkind." The album's textures range from brooding and melancholic to powerful and anthemic, making it distinctive within the genre and a compelling listen for fans of dark, introspective themes.
