By 2013, fans knew to expect surprises from pop maverick Natalia LaFourcade, but her tribute album to Mexico's beloved bolero composer Agustín Lara was something else entirely. The arrangements are as eclectic as the guest list would suggest. She and Devendra Banhart make a sexy tango out of "Amor, Amor de Mis Amores". Meanwhile, Meme, of rock band Café Tacvba, helps turn "Limosna" into quirky ukulele pop. And with Brazilian master Gilberto Gil, LaFourcade spins "Farolito" into an old 78 record, complete with scratches.
