"Zugabe" showcases Ideal's signature blend of synth-pop and new wave, characterized by crisp electronic textures and a driving, danceable rhythm. The production is marked by a polished yet raw aesthetic, with layers of synthesizers creating a vibrant soundscape that oscillates between euphoric and introspective. Tracks like "Blaue Augen" and "Ich kann nicht schlafen" feature catchy melodies underpinned by steady, pulsating beats, while "Monotonie" explores a more hypnotic, repetitive structure. The energy fluctuates throughout the album, with tracks like "Berlin" radiating urgency, while "Erschießen" offers a darker, more brooding atmosphere. The distinctive use of both melodic and rhythmic elements makes "Zugabe" a compelling listen, capturing the essence of early '80s German electronic music.
