“All Else Failed” is a seminal metalcore album that showcases a raw and aggressive sound, characteristic of the mid-90s hardcore scene. The production is gritty yet polished enough to highlight the dynamic interplay of heavy guitar riffs and intricate drumming. The instrumentation features a blend of down-tuned guitars and relentless percussion, creating a dense sonic texture that oscillates between crushing heaviness and melodic interludes. Tracks like “Resistance” and “Endure” exemplify a frenetic tempo, while “In Loving Kindness” introduces moments of introspective calm. The energy throughout is palpable, with a distinctive blend of harsh vocals and atmospheric elements, making the album a powerful exploration of emotional and sonic contrasts.
