"Calla" presents a rich tapestry of sound that blends atmospheric post-rock with elements of indie and experimental music. The production is polished yet retains an organic feel, allowing the intricate layering of guitars, synths, and subtle percussion to shine. Tracks like "Tarantula" and "Custom Car Crash" showcase a dynamic range, oscillating between brooding, slow tempos and more urgent, driving rhythms. The textures are often lush and immersive, creating a haunting backdrop that complements the introspective lyrics. Songs such as "Only Drowning Men" and "Awake & Under" highlight the band's ability to evoke emotion through sonic contrasts, making the album distinctive in its ability to balance tension and release.
