"Levelling the Land" features a vibrant blend of alternative rock and punk, characterized by its energetic tempo and raw, anthemic sound. The production is polished yet retains a gritty edge, allowing the acoustic guitars and electric instrumentation to coexist harmoniously. The album showcases a rich tapestry of textures, with driving rhythms, layered harmonies, and a prominent use of fiddle and mandolin that infuses a folk sensibility into the punk ethos. Tracks like "One Way" and "The River" exemplify a dynamic interplay between urgency and melodic introspection, creating an engaging listening experience that feels both immediate and timeless. The distinctiveness lies in its ability to fuse traditional instrumentation with contemporary rock energy, making it a standout of its era.
