"Diabolical" showcases a raw and aggressive sound characteristic of late '90s black metal, marked by its lo-fi production that enhances the grim atmosphere. The album features blistering guitar riffs layered with tremolo picking, creating a dense wall of sound that is both chaotic and hypnotic. Drumming is relentless, oscillating between blast beats and more measured tempos, driving the energy forward while maintaining a sense of urgency. The vocal delivery is harsh and raspy, adding to the overall intensity. Tracks like "Embracing the Apocalypse" and "When Autumn Storms Come" exemplify the album's dark textures, with a blend of melodic elements and dissonant chords that evoke a sense of desolation and despair. The production, while raw, captures the essence of the genre, making "Diabolical" a distinctive entry in the black metal canon.
