Description: Retaliation is the second and final album by the Brooklyn crossover thrash band Carnivore. It was released in 1987 by Roadrunner Records, and later released on CD in 1991 without tracks 4 and 9.

It was re-issued with a different cover on January 23, 2001, and contains three demo tracks.

"Manic Depression" is a Jimi Hendrix cover. "S.M.D." stands for Suck My Dick.

The track "Jack Daniel's and Pizza" is a recording of someone (apparently Peter Steele) rushing into the bathroom to vomit into a toilet; presumably after drinking Jack Daniel's and eating pizza.

Artist Background: Carnivore was an American crossover thrash band from Brooklyn, New York by singer and bassist Peter Steele, and was formed out of the breakup of the Brooklyn metal group Fallout in 1982. Carnivore released their self-titled debut album Carnivore in January of 1985. For this album, the band spelled their names in what they thought were "exotic" ways. In September of 1987 they released their second album, Retaliation. Soon after their second album was released, the band broke up and Peter Steel... Part of the Brooklyn, New York, USA music scene. Emerged in the 1980s era. Associated with Thrash Metal movement. Known for Metal style.
