Ten New Messages" presents a vibrant tapestry of alternative rock, characterized by its punchy rhythms and sharp guitar hooks. The production is crisp, allowing the intricate interplay of jangly guitars and driving bass lines to shine through. Each track, from the frenetic energy of "The World Was a Mess but His Hair Was Perfect" to the more contemplative "Leave the City and Come Home," showcases a dynamic range, with tempos that oscillate between brisk anthems and reflective moments. The vocal delivery is both urgent and melodic, enhancing the album's overall texture. The blend of catchy choruses and layered instrumentation creates a distinctive sound that feels both immediate and engaging.
