Solid Gold" features a gritty post-punk sound characterized by sharp, angular guitar riffs and a driving rhythm section. The production is raw yet polished, allowing the interplay between the bass and drums to create a dynamic foundation. Tracks like "What We All Want" and "Paralysed" showcase a blend of energetic tempos and a sense of urgency, while the use of dissonant chords adds a layer of tension. The album's textures range from the punchy, aggressive instrumentation to more subdued moments, creating an engaging contrast throughout. The distinctiveness lies in its ability to merge rock and pop sensibilities with a confrontational edge, making it a compelling listen in the post-punk landscape.
