Hard" presents a gritty post-punk sound characterized by sharp, angular guitar riffs and a driving rhythm section. The production is raw yet polished, allowing the energetic tempo of tracks like "Is It Love" and "I Fled" to shine through. The instrumentation features a blend of punchy bass lines and dynamic drumming, creating an urgent atmosphere that complements the lyrical themes. Songs like "Silver Lining" and "Woman Town" showcase a mix of rock and pop sensibilities, with catchy hooks layered over a textured soundscape. The album's distinctive edge lies in its ability to balance melodic accessibility with a visceral, unrefined energy, making it a standout in the genre.
