Description: No One Rides for Free is Southern Californian stoner rock band Fu Manchu's debut album. This is the only record with Mark Abshire on bass guitar; he was replaced by Brad Davis. Mark Abshire later teamed up with Eddie Glass and Ruben Romano to form the power trio Nebula. This album is produced by later Fu Manchu and then Kyuss drummer Brant Bjork. A 20-year anniversary edition was released in 2014.

Artist Background: Fu Manchu is a Southern Californian stoner rock band. Fu Manchu originally formed in 1985 as a hardcore punk band called Virulence. The line up was vocalist Ken Pucci, guitarist Scott Hill, bassist Mark Abshire, and drummer Ruben Romano. In 1987 Abshire left the band and was replaced by Greg McCaughey. They recorded their debut LP If This Isn't a Dream... in 1988, which was released on Alchemy Records (1989). In 1990, Pucci left the band and was replaced by vocalist Glenn Chivens, and they ch... Part of the Orange County, California, USA music scene. Emerged in the 1980s era. Associated with Stoner Rock movement. Known for Rock/Pop style.
