"First Spell" presents a raw and atmospheric black metal experience, characterized by its lo-fi production that enhances the haunting quality of its sound. The album features a blend of tremolo-picked guitar riffs and blast beat drumming, creating a relentless energy that permeates tracks like "The Shivering Voice of the Ghost" and "Night of the Serpent's Judgement." The instrumentation is layered, with eerie synths and ambient interludes adding depth to the aggressive soundscape. The tempo varies, oscillating between frenetic bursts and slower, more ominous passages, as heard in "A Witch Is Born." Distinctive for its dark, immersive textures, "First Spell" captures the essence of black metal's otherworldly themes and emotional intensity.
