"The Call of the Wretched Sea" envelops listeners in a dense, atmospheric soundscape that merges doom metal with elements of post-metal. The production is polished yet retains a raw edge, allowing the heavy, distorted guitars to intertwine with haunting melodies and deep, resonant bass lines. Tracks like "The Pacific" and "Old Thunder" showcase a slow, deliberate tempo, creating a sense of weight and urgency. The use of layered instrumentation adds depth, with clean and growled vocals contrasting against the expansive sonic textures. The album's distinctive character lies in its ability to evoke the vastness of the sea, with each track feeling like a journey through turbulent waters, rich in emotional resonance and immersive sound.
