Description: Amaranthe is the debut album by the Swedish power metal/melodic death metal band Amaranthe. The album was released April 13, 2011 (iTunes release: April 11, 2011) and reached 35th on Swedish and 16th on the Finnish Charts. It also topped the Japanese Import charts beating Lady Gaga. In September 2011 it was announced that a deluxe edition was going to be released in October and will feature two bonus tracks and a DVD.

Artist Background: Amaranthe is a Swedish/Danish band that fuses melodic metal with pop melodies. Formed by Jake E (Dreamland, Dream Evil) and Olof Mörck (Dragonland, Nightrage), the project began taking shape, when singers Elize Ryd (toured with Kamelot) and Andreas Solvestrom (Cipher System, Within Y), signed on, as did drummer Morten Løwe Sørensen (The Cleansing, Koldborn, Mercenary). Bassist Johan Andreassen (Engel) joined after the photoshoot for the Leave Everything Behind demo but before the recording... Part of the Gothenburg, Sweden music scene. Emerged in the 2000s era. Associated with Power Metal movement. Known for Metal style.
