It was recorded in Westfield, Massachusetts at Zing Studios in May 2007 to positive critical reception. The record was a surprising commercial success for the band at the time, charting at #6 on the ARIA Album Charts, an unheard of achievement for an Australian metal band in 2007.

As of 2015, Parkway Drive has released four full-length albums (Killing with a Smile, Horizons, Deep Blue and Atlas), one EP, two DVDs, a split album and one book: "Ten Years of Parkway Drive". Their latest three albums peaked in the top 10 of the Australian ARIA chart. They are currently in the process of finishing their fifth album, Ire, which is due to be released September 25.
