The Coathangers' self-titled debut album bursts with raw energy and a lo-fi production aesthetic that captures the essence of garage punk. The instrumentation is characterized by gritty guitar riffs, punchy bass lines, and frenetic drumming, creating a relentless tempo that drives each track forward. Vocals oscillate between playful and aggressive, layered with a distinct punk attitude that enhances the album's rebellious spirit. The sonic texture is both abrasive and melodic, with a DIY quality that adds authenticity to the listening experience. Distinctive for its unrefined charm, the album balances chaotic energy with catchy hooks, making it a standout in the realm of underground punk.
