Album: Blood Ritual by Samael (1992)
Genre: Black Metal | Style: Metal
Format: Album

Description: Blood Ritual is the second album by the Swiss heavy metal band Samael, released in 1992 on the Century Media Records label.
When Samael's one-album-only contract with Osmose Productions expired the group signed with Century Media which, in the words of vocalist/guitarist Vorphalack, offered them a "rather interesting" deal. The long time between Worship Him and Blood Ritual, explains Vorphalack, was due to negotiations between them and the label. The band to chose to record their new record in Germany rather than their Switzerland due to the expensive studio time of their native country.
Vorphalack argued that the main change between Worship Him and Blood Ritual was the record production and not the music. According to him there are songs in their sophomore album that pre-date their debut.

Songs like "Moongate" and "Heliopolis" feature a dynamic interplay of aggressive and melodic passages, creating a captivating energy that fluctuates between intensity and introspection. The use of orchestral samples and ambient interludes, particularly in "Oriental Dawn," adds a unique depth, enhancing the album's thematic explorations. Overall, the sonic landscape is rich and immersive, making "Reign of Light" a distinctive entry in the industrial metal genre.

Album: Above by Samael (2009)
Genre: Industrial Metal | Style: Metal
Format: Album

Description: Above is the eighth studio album from the heavy metal band Samael, released in March, 2009.
Earlier in 2009 the band began promoting a virtual death metal band from their Myspace profile. The band was called "Above" and featured computer-designed band members in a virtual world, whose lyrics and songs were written by Samael. Later through Myspace, the band announced that they would be taking their side-project Above and turning it into their newest Samael album.
Commenting on the album, Vorph said:
"After 20 years, we've tried to do an album that would represent what SAMAEL is all about and we did 'Solar Soul'. We feel now it is the right time to [remind] the people where we come from and that's exactly what 'Above' will do. It is like an enhanced version of our three or four first albums, maybe the missing link between 'Ceremony of Opposites' and 'Passage'. With the 'Era One' project we've tried to work on different influences; with 'Above' we stripped everything down."

Album: Passage by Samael (1996)
Genre: Industrial Metal | Style: Metal
Format: Album

Description: Passage is the fourth album by Swiss heavy metal band Samael. On this album, the band opted for more intensive use of keyboards and industrial sounds, drifting from their black metal roots and progressing in a different direction. Lyrically the band abandoned satanic themes and veered more towards the occult and the cosmic.
While it differs from its predecessors, Passage can be credited for thrusting Samael from the underground scene and giving the band a much larger international audience.
The album was originally recorded with a 17 song track list but was later cut down to 11. The remaining songs can be found on the album Exodus. A second edition was later offered containing 10 classical piano compositions from the album on a second disk.
In 2007, a remastered, re-packaged, special edition was released containing the album's original 17 song track list.
Over a decade after its original release, Passage is still considered by many to be a pillar in the black/industrial metal genre.
A video for "Jupiterian Vibe" received regular airplay on MTV's Headbangers Ball.
The album was produced by Waldemar Sorychta, who would go on to work with bands such as Lacuna Coil.
