

Remy Ma, born Reminisce Kioni Mackie on May 30, 1980, in the South Bronx, New York, is an American rapper. Raised in a tough environment, she turned to poetry, which led her to rap. Discovered by Big Pun, she joined Terror Squad and released her debut solo album, There's Something About Remy, in 2006. In 2007, she was sentenced to 8 years in prison for assault, serving 6, and made a comeback in 2014 with mixtapes and the hit "All the Way Up" (2017) with Fat Joe, earning a Grammy nomination. Married to rapper Papoose, she has two children and three stepchildren. A hip-hop pioneer, she inspires with her raw style and resilience.
