Album: Actin' Up Again by Gavin Adcock (2024)
Genre: Country
Format: Album

Description: Gavin Adcock’s path to music was an unusual one. The Georgia-born singer-songwriter first pursued football, playing nose tackle for Georgia Southern University before hanging up his helmet after a serious knee injury in 2021. While recovering, Adcock began writing and recording country music—something he’d dabbled in during high school—and soon decided to chase this new dream full time. Actin’ Up Again marks Adcock’s first partnership with a major label, the record licensed to Warner Music Nashville via his own Thrivin Here Records. The album opens with its title track, a southern-fried power ballad about moving on after a difficult breakup, with some profane well-wishes (“I raised my glass up and said, ‘Fuck you’”) thrown in for good measure. “Sober” is one of Adcock’s more vulnerable moments, as he admits he “might even cry” thinking of an ex-lover with someone else. And fan favourite and viral hit “A Cigarette”, with its sombre pedal steel and raw, gritty arrangement, shows another flavour of heartbreak from Adcock, who cuts his hurt with gratitude: “I thank the Lord greatly for just letting you be my baby.”

Album: Own Worst Enemy by Gavin Adcock (2025)
Genre: Country
Record Label: Thrivin Here Records LLC/Warner Music Nashville
Format: Album

Description: Just a year after his major-label debut Actin’ Up Again, viral country up-and-comer Gavin Adcock returns with a double album—the latest in a string of country stars to go big or go home with sprawling, ambitious projects. With themes of heartbreak, self-destruction and redemption, Own Worst Enemy—as its title suggests—is a more personal outing than its predecessor, which is also reflected in the album’s more expansive production. The record opens with “Morning Bail”, a deceptively sweet song about waking up in the drunk tank after a rowdy night out. “Never Call Again” finds Adcock showing the gentler side of his often gruff voice, with drawn-out pedal steel flourishes adding a gauzy feel to the love song. The lone guest on Own Worst Enemy is Roswell, Georgia-raised Vincent Mason, who joins Adcock on “Almost Gone”, a down-and-out ballad about the one that got away. And the album of course includes the fan favourite “Last One to Know”.

Album: Country Never Dies by Gavin Adcock (2026)
Genre: Country
Format: Album

Description: Gavin Adcock shines a spotlight on classic country music on this compilation, a collection of covers curated by the up-and-coming iconoclast that features contemporary stars tackling some of the genre’s best-loved songs. Adcock himself kicks off the album, serving up a rowdy, faithful interpretation of Waylon Jennings’ “Only Daddy That’ll Walk the Line”. Ashley Cooke gets groovy on the Glen Campbell tune “Southern Nights”, which gets a healthy dose of soul from the rising star.

There are a couple curveballs in the mix, too, like Hudson Westbrook’s standout rendition of The Pointer Sisters’ “Slow Hand”, on which the Texan star flips the narrative and offers himself up as the man with the titular soft touch. Adcock bookends the project with closer “Mama Tried”, the famed 1968 Merle Haggard song that has since taken on a life of its own. Other artists on Country Never Dies include Lanie Gardner, Vincent Mason and Jake Worthington.
