Album: Gangalee by Farruko (2019)
Genre: latin pop
Record Label: Sony Music | Latin
Format: CD

Description: The first artist to land a Latin trap single on the Billboard Hot 100, Farruko seemed well-positioned to ascend into the American mainstream. Yet while “Krippy Kush” colleague Bad Bunny did just that, his Puerto Rican compatriot pivoted away from the urban sounds of 2017’s TrapXficante. Subsequent singles “Coolant” and “Inolvidable” circled back not merely to his come-up as a reggaetónero but to the Jamaican dancehall styles that helped birth música urbana. Gangalee collects these songs and adds several more to present a fully realised Spanish-language reggae vision that honours traditions and earns him the right to be considered part of that Caribbean canon. Soundtracking an endless summer, cuts like “Mucho Humo” with Jo Mersa Marley and “Ponle” with Kingston’s own Rvssian lend even more authenticity to his efforts. Though Farruko lures in other hardened traperos here to further solidify his cross-cultural cred, pop singers Pedro Capó and Alicia Keys bring out his softer and more easy-going charm on the smash hit “Calma”.

Album: 167BPM by Farruko (2025)
Genre: reggaeton
Record Label: WEA Latina
Format: Digital Media

Description: Among Farruko’s many career high points, his song “Krippy Kush” stands out for being one of the first Latin trap singles to chart in the US. So, it makes sense that he’d link with Louis BPM, a next-gen trapero from Venezuela with burgeoning pop inclinations. On their joint project 167BPM, the bespoke duo outright refuse to limit themselves to any one style, instead exploring a variety of sounds that speak to the contemporary global Latin movement’s genre fluidity. Having previously seized attention with their “Tranquilo” remix, which also featured J Balvin, Kris R. and iZaak, they kick off this concise collaboration in trap mode with the instantly gratifying “PANCC”. From there, they offer locally inspired fusions galore, from the dance-floor tribalism of “OE OE” to the roots-infused “REGGAEGUAIRA” and the lushly polyrhythmic “CANAIMA”. On “ASÍ CRECÍ”, both artists examine their respective pasts and upbringings with critical eyes, giving the streets something fresh to ponder.

Album: TrapXficante by Farruko (2017)
Genre: Latin Urban
Record Label: Sony Music | Latin
Format: Digital Media

Description: TrapXficante opens with a snarling and startling blast of trap bass. It's a grimy statement of intent from the Puerto Rican star, who mostly ditches his winning reggaeton bounce to experiment wildly. There are menacing trap bangers throughout ("Krippy Kush"), but also slow jams full of cooed R&B hooks and lush pop synths ("Explícale"), and even old-school Latin grooves infused with modern swag ("Chá Chá Chá"). The album is an epic, both in scope and length. But it's also an irresistible trip, with Farruko's hitmaker instincts still in full effect.

Album: Visionary by Farruko (2015)
Genre: hip hop
Format: Digital Media

Description: Right from the outset, this Puerto Rican-born reggaeton singer and go-to producer boldly proclaims “This is the next level, the future". Farruko then sets out to prove just that, his booming baritone vocals punctuating party-propelling tunes that fold arpeggio-driven melodies and choruses over thumping beats. “Obsesionado” starts sparsely, with supple, bass-leaning keyboard melodies flowing beneath his suave vocals; “HMB” turns a bit psychedelic with swirling circular samples. Ultimately, though, Shaggy and Nicky Jam take us to the climax with the feel-good Tropicália-dancehall crossover tune “Sunset".
