Album: Projector by Dark Tranquillity (1999)
Record Label: Century Media
Format: Album

Description: Projector is the fourth full-length studio album by the melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity.

It is the last Dark Tranquillity release with Fredrik Johansson.

It marked a departure for the band renowned as one of the founders of the Gothenburg Sound. Eschewing much of their trademark dual-guitar passages and death growling, Dark Tranquillity's Projector album featured some piano and clean guitar parts akin to that of gothic metal. The album was also the first to include vocalist Mikael Stanne on clean vocals; Stanne delivered some of the lyrics in an operatic baritone, far removed from his typical metal growls. Because of its massive deviation from the band's previous efforts, Projector was met with mixed opinions by longtime fans, but it also attracted a fair amount of new listeners.[citation needed] The clean vocal style was almost entirely discarded after this album, although the keyboards and pianos would become an integral part of the band's later sound. Stanne has brought his clean vocals back into some of Dark Tranquillity songs, though, as heard on Dark Tranquillity's 2007 album Fiction and their most recent release We Are the Void.

The album credits list that Martin Brändström and Michael Nicklasson were present (as keyboardist and bassist respectively) on the album. However they only joined in time for the album's release and the actual recording was done by their old line-up. The album included a lot of piano and electronics and they hired Brändström to perform this live, whereas Nicklasson joined after the firing of ex-guitarist Fredrik Johansson and Martin Henriksson's switch from bass to guitar.

The limited edition digipak includes the bonus track "Exposure". However, there were problems with the pressings because not all the digipaks include "Exposure" and there are some traditional releases that include the track. The Japanese version of the album has different cover art and includes a booklet with more photos and biographical information. Also, the Korean label Dope Music's digipak of the album was released in 2004 and includes "Undo Control (Live)" as a bonus track. It was recorded in Poland in 2002. The 2009 reissue includes bonus tracks and digitally remastered audio.

Album: Haven by Dark Tranquillity (2000)
Record Label: Century Media
Format: Album

Description: Haven is the fifth full-length studio album released by the band Dark Tranquillity in 2000. It continued to advance the musical changes started on their previous album. A mix of melody, electronic pads, and heavy metal gave new fans to the band, but also became criticized by old melodic death fans that disliked the genre. The first digipak release of the album included the video for "ThereIn". The Japanese version included a bonus track, "Cornered" and the video for "ThereIn". Niklas Sundin has stated that this is his least favourite Dark Tranquillity album (this is also the only Dark Tranquillity album where he does not receive any songwriting credit), but has also mentioned that "Emptier Still" is his favourite song from the album. The 2009 reissue includes bonus tracks and digitally remastered audio.

This is the first Dark Tranquillity release with Martin Henriksson becoming a full-time rhythm guitar player plus Michael Nicklasson & Martin Brändström recording with the band.

Metalguru.net, listed this album as #5 in the "Retro 2000 Top 5 Albums".

Album: The Gallery by Dark Tranquillity (1995)
Record Label: Century Media
Format: Album

Description: The Gallery is the second full-length studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity, released on November 27, 1995. It was the first full-length release to feature Mikael Stanne on lead vocals, while passing down his position of guitarist to Fredrik Johansson. The album saw a more intense approach on the vocals than on Skydancer.

The release of the album was pushed forward because Kristian Wåhlin took a lot of time to work on the album cover.

In 2004, Century Media Records re-released The Gallery with new layouts and five cover songs as bonus tracks.

The Gallery is considered a classic album of the Gothenburg style of metal, along with At the Gates' Slaughter of the Soul and In Flames' The Jester Race, exhibiting the dual guitar leads, growled vocals and acoustic sections typical of the genre. The album was inducted into Decibel magazine's hall of fame in its April 2010 issue.

Album: Damage Done by Dark Tranquillity (2002)
Record Label: Century Media
Format: Album

Description: Damage Done is the sixth full-length studio album by the Swedish melodic death metal band Dark Tranquillity. Here, the band returns to a more classic style while holding the new changes made in their albums Haven and Projector, especially in the keyboards, but this is the first record since "Projector" that does not feature clean vocals.
