"The Things We Think We're Missing" by Balance and Composure is a rock album that envelops listeners in a dense, emotive soundscape. The production leans towards a raw yet polished aesthetic, with a focus on layered guitar textures that oscillate between gritty distortion and melodic clarity. The instrumentation is robust, featuring driving rhythms and dynamic shifts that maintain a compelling energy throughout. Tracks like "Parachutes" and "Reflection" showcase a blend of introspective lyrics and powerful crescendos, while "Tiny Raindrop" and "Notice Me" highlight the band's ability to balance intensity with moments of vulnerability. The album's distinctive quality lies in its ability to convey a sense of urgency and introspection, creating an immersive listening experience.
