IV" by Godsmack showcases a robust alternative metal sound characterized by heavy guitar riffs and dynamic percussion. The production is polished, allowing for a clear separation of instruments, which enhances the aggressive yet melodic nature of the tracks. Songs like "Livin in Sin" and "The Enemy" feature driving tempos and powerful vocal delivery, while "Hollow" introduces a more introspective texture with its layered harmonies and atmospheric elements. The album balances high-energy anthems with moments of vulnerability, as seen in "One Rainy Day."
