There are a few recurring themes on Tyga’s NSFW, the MC’s first solo release since 2019’s Legendary, and none of them inherently scream “not safe for work”. In fact, one could be made to believe that this robust collection of tales about balling harder than everyone you know, partying exclusively in the company of beautiful women and the myriad ways that fast money is best spent is just what a quiet-quitter needs to turn their productivity up. To be fair to Tyga though, that’s not really his concern. Across NSFW, the man who gave us pioneering SoCal party-rap anthems like “Rack City” and “Faded” is reaffirming his lifestyle—one that, if you believe tabloid headlines, may currently be funded by the mint he is reported to have made from a now-deactivated OnlyFans account. The point is, this guy parties, and he makes it sound like what he was born to do. He’s got great guests here (Big Sean and Flo Milli on “Dumb”, Lil Wayne on “Pop It Off” and a scene-stealing Shenseea on “Magnetic”), and even a really cool Cher sample on “Found Someone”. But it’s the Tyga show through and through, and if you’re as plugged in as he hopes you are, you ain’t making it to work in the morning.
