Destroyer" presents a lo-fi indie rock sound characterized by its eclectic instrumentation and a blend of melodic and dissonant textures. The production is raw yet intimate, allowing the subtle nuances of each track to shine through. Songs like "J. Tailor" and "Karen is in Rome" feature jangly guitars and understated rhythms, creating a laid-back atmosphere that contrasts with the more frenetic energy of tracks like "Whistlin' Dixie (She Shoots)." The album's tempo varies, with some tracks embracing a slower, contemplative pace while others pick up a more urgent drive. The distinctiveness lies in its playful yet melancholic lyrical themes, wrapped in a sound that feels both personal and expansive.
