Wir fangen jetzt erst an" delivers a raw and energetic sound characteristic of the punk rock genre, with a distinct Deutschpunk edge. The album features driving guitar riffs and punchy drum patterns that create an urgent tempo, propelling tracks like "All die schönen Menschen" and "Du killst mich" forward with relentless energy. The production is polished yet retains a gritty authenticity, allowing the vocals to cut through the mix with emotional intensity. Textures range from anthemic choruses to more introspective moments, as seen in "Küchentisch" and "Für dich." The album's thematic focus on contemporary issues and personal struggles resonates, making it a standout in the modern punk landscape.
