TANZNEID

Leave it to Electric Callboy to invent their own word for the title of their seventh album. <i>TANZNEID</i> is a combination of the German words for “dance” (tanz) and “envy” (neid), which nicely sums up the tongue-in-cheek essence of these Teutonic fusionists. In combining ultra-modern metalcore, bass-dropping EDM and high-gloss pop on <b>“Elevator Operator”</b>, <b>“Revery”</b> and the earworm title track, Electric Callboy occupy the dance floor and the mosh pit simultaneously. Guest shots from The Offspring (<b>“Let the Good Times Roll”</b>) and BABYMETAL (<b>“RATATATA”</b>) provide sunny optimism and bouncy beats while the nu-metal-inflected <b>“Hypercharged”</b> is billed as a collaboration with the popular mobile game <i>Brawl Stars</i>.
