"Ad Astra" by Ash presents a vibrant blend of alternative rock and pop sensibilities, characterized by punchy guitar riffs and dynamic percussion. The production is polished yet retains an organic feel, allowing the instrumentation to shine through with clarity. Tracks like "Zarathustra" and "Hallion" showcase a driving tempo, infused with energetic hooks that invite listeners to engage. The album explores a range of textures, from the anthemic choruses of "Jump in the Line" to the more introspective soundscapes of "My Favourite Ghost." The juxtaposition of upbeat tracks like "Fun People" with the darker themes in "Dehumanised" creates a distinctive emotional landscape, making "Ad Astra" a compelling listen throughout its journey.
