On April 3, 2024, it was announced Tinashe signed a worldwide publishing deal with Position Music, obtaining the publishing rights to her future releases from that point forward and her previous album BB/Ang3l. On April 8, Tinashe announced via her social media that the album was set to release soon, to which she would announce the album's lead single the next day. On June 28, hours after the release of her song "Getting No Sleep", Tinashe announced that the album would be released on August 16.

Artist Background: Tinashe Jorgenson Kachingwe, known professionally as just Tinashe, (born February 6, 1993), is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and former model. She began her entertainment career at the age of 3 when she began modeling and acting. In 2012, Tinashe released two critically acclaimed mixtapes, In Case We Die and Reverie, which she created in her home studio. After the release of the mixtapes, Tinashe signed with RCA Records. She later released her third mixtape, Black Water (201... Part of the Lexington, Kentucky, USA music scene. Emerged in the 2000s era. Associated with R&B movement. Known for Urban/R&B style.
