Science, Not Fiction" delivers a robust blend of stoner and doom metal, characterized by thick, distorted guitar riffs and a powerful rhythm section. The production is polished yet retains a raw edge, allowing the gritty textures of the instrumentation to shine through. Tracks like "The Fire at the Centre of the Earth Is Mine" and "Ascend the Negative" feature driving tempos and dynamic shifts that create an engaging energy throughout the album. The use of layered vocals adds depth, while the rhythmic interplay between instruments evokes a sense of urgency.
