Khanate" envelops listeners in a dense, oppressive soundscape that epitomizes drone doom. The album's production is raw yet meticulously crafted, allowing the heavy, distorted guitars to resonate with a haunting clarity. Each track, from the slow, lumbering tempos of "Pieces of Quiet" to the crushing weight of "Under Rotting Sky," creates an immersive experience that feels both suffocating and cathartic. The use of dissonant chords and minimalist percussion adds to the unsettling atmosphere, while the sparse, anguished vocals punctuate the sonic texture. The overall energy is bleak and introspective, making this self-titled debut a distinctive exploration of sludge and doom metal's darkest corners.
