Helping Hands… Live & Acoustic at the Masonic

"Nothing to be nervous about, we're all going to have some fun here”, joked Metallica frontman James Hetfield during this acoustic benefit for the All Within My Hands Foundation. Recorded in November 2018 in San Francisco, Helping Hands…Live & Acoustic At The Masonic finds the hard-rock heroes utilising lap-steel guitars as they turn metal chestnuts into enchanting folk and country, transforming classics like “Disposable Heroes” in process. They put their stamp on covers of Nazareth’s “Please Don’t Judas Me”, Bob Seger’s “Turn the Page” and Blue Öyster Cult’s “Veteran of the Psychic Wars”. Meanwhile, Metallica’s own “Enter Sandman” and “Nothing Else Matters” are imbued with an haunting energy as they cement their inimitable take on acoustic thrash.
