Only King Forever

This live set is a riveting document of Elevation Worship’s cutting-edge blend of ecstatic praise and modern rock dynamics. The title track features massive, proclamatory drums and passionately strummed chords that wouldn’t sound out of place on a U2 album. A meditation on the Lord’s everlasting power, “Mighty Warrior” unloads crashing riffs while the group’s rousing harmonies burst into exuberantly shouted pleas and cries. The band does offer up a handful of moments of respite, including “Everlasting Father", a softly glowing meditation that blurs the lines between traditional hymn and sweetly scented pop ballad.
