Album: Windswept by Johnny Jewel (2017)
Genre: Ambient | Style: Electronic | Mood: Dreamy
Record Label: Italians Do It Better
Format: Album

Description: Written for David Lynch & featured throughout Showtime’s limited event series Twin Peaks: The Return, Johnny Jewel’s solo album Windswept is a fourteen-part journey into the beauty & the horror one expects of the Lynchian. This collection is rich in midnight atmosphere & sullen, somnambulant synths — part plaintive ambience, part haunting lounge jazz, all ethereal & movingly other-worldly. Much of the album will be unforgettable for fans of Twin Peaks: several of these songs accompanied the show’s most enduring & indelible images.
Includes contributions by Desire & the divine rendition of “Blue Moon” performed by Chromatics. A record of deep sorrow & splendor, of overflowing misery & grace, Windswept is a both an indispensable counterpart to Twin Peaks & a self-contained marvel on its own.
