Description: One of the better Billy Ocean anthologies, Playlist: The Very Best of Billy Ocean contains all of the singer's Top 20 U.S. hits, from 1984's "Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run)" through 1988's "The Colour of Love." This traces back to his 1981 album Nights (Feel Like Getting Down) -- though only for the excellent title track -- and extends to the end of the decade for "I Sleep Much Better (In Someone Else's Bed)." Ocean released some of the most memorable pop singles of the '80s (for better or worse), including "When the Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going" and "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car," as well as some of the more enduring adult contemporary hits, such as "Suddenly" and "Love Zone."

Artist Background: Billy Ocean (born Leslie Charles; 21 January 1950 in Fyzabad, Trinidad) is a British recording artist who had a string of R&B international pop hits in the 1970s and 1980s. He was the most popular British-based R&B singer-songwriter of the early to mid-1980s. After scoring his first four UK top 20 successes, seven years passed before he accumulated a series of transatlantic successes, including three U.S. number ones. In 1985, Ocean won the Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance for... Part of the Romford, UK music scene. Emerged in the 1970s era. Associated with Soul movement. Known for Urban/R&B style.
