Description: Palimpsest is the fifth studio album by Canadian progressive metal band Protest the Hero released on June 18, 2020 through Spinefarm Records. Palimpsest marks the band's first studio record since 2013's Volition, and their first new material since 2016's Pacific Myth EP.
This is the first studio album (and second overall release) of the band to feature session member Cam McLellan on bass and full-time member Mike Ieradi on drums.

Artist Background: The band started as Happy Go Lucky in 2001 and, shortly after, they recorded a 3-track demo (containing the songs "I Detest", "The 5th Commandment" and "Just Defy"). In 2002 they changed their name to Protest the Hero and released their first EP, Search for the Truth 7" vinyl, which included only two songs. They were included too in the compilation (Coles) Notes from the Underground that same year. Luke Hoskin stated on his Formspring page that Search for the Truth was recorded when they were... Part of the Ontario, Canada music scene. Emerged in the 1990s era. Associated with Metal movement.
