The Complete Chess Studio Recordings
Buddy Guy
Released: 1992
- Genre
- Blues
- Format
- Compilation
The expressive, visceral style that Buddy Guy developed working with Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, et al. made him the most commanding blues guitarist of the '60s, but his Chess Records solo cuts are where he really began to strut his stuff. His unhinged-sounding licks on "I Got My Eyes on You" and the chilling, rawboned desperation of "First Time I Met the Blues" show the passion that courses through Guy’s fingers on these historic recordings.
