Artist Background: The Chameleons were a highly influential British rock band whose intense and dynamic musicianship was never really understood or appreciated by the music press or public alike. The Chameleons were formed in 1981 in Middleton, Manchester by vocalist and bassist Mark Burgess, guitarists Dave Fielding and Reg Smithies and drummer Brian Schofield, though the latter was soon replaced by long standing drummer John Lever.
