Rod Stewart embraces the ’80s and sashays with them into the night on <i>Body Wishes</i>. He slips easily into the slinky electro beat of “Baby Jane”, his smoky vocals intertwined with glossy synths and reedy sax, while he sways along to steel-drum-style keys on the Caribbean-flavoured “What Am I Gonna Do (I’m So In Love With You)”. And he doesn’t depart from his rock past entirely—opener “Dancin’ Alone” is a satisfyingly grubby blues-rocker with wailing harmonica that will clear your sinuses.
