The Believers consists of 12 tracks, written or co-written by Ricky Ross. The record was produced and mixed by producer and friend Paul Savage (Mogwai, Arab Strap, The Twilight Sad, Wu Lyf) who previously worked with the band on The Hipsters. Two tracks were mixed by Grammy award-winning Michael Brauer (Coldplay, John Mayer).

Artist Background: Deacon Blue are a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow during 1985. Their name was taken from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues".The current line-up of the band consists of vocalists Ricky Ross and Lorraine McIntosh, keyboard player James Prime and drummer Dougie Vipond. The band released their debut album, Raintown on 1 May 1987 in the United Kingdom. Their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name (1989) topped the UK Album Charts for two weeks, and included "Real Gone... Part of the Glasgow, Scotland music scene. Emerged in the 1980s era. Associated with Pop movement. Known for Rock/Pop style.
