Produced by Thom Monahan, the album was recorded over several weeks in Los Angeles and Stockholm, Sweden, and was preceded by four singles: "To Know You", "TV Queen", "Reichpop" and "A Woman's Wisdom". Recorded mostly by primary member Jack Tatum, the album's aesthetic was influenced by Philly soul.

Artist Background: Wild Nothing is an American indie rock/dream pop band from Blacksburg, Virginia, formed in late 2009 by Jack Tatum. During live performances Tatum is joined by Nathan Goodman (guitar), Jeff Haley (bass), Kevin Knight (keyboards) and Jeremiah Johnson (drums). To date, Wild Nothing has released two studio albums to critical acclaim, Gemini (2010) and Nocturne (2012). In 2013, Wild Nothing released an EP, Empty Estate. Jack Tatum previously played in bands Jack and the Whale and FACEPAINT in the... Part of the Blacksburg, Virginia, USA music scene. Emerged in the 2000s era. Associated with Indie movement.
